AIRCRAFT SEARCH

 

- Deputies of the Albany County Sheriff's Office, Members of the Albany County Volunteer Search and Rescue, University of Wyoming ROTC, Wyoming Civil Air Patrol, and United States Airforce  have continued its second day of search efforts in the Laramie Peak area in Northern Albany County this morning.

 

-A total of 40 ground team members are in the area focusing on ridge lines searching for any evidence of a possible downed aircraft.

 

- Helicopter operations were conducted last night with infra-red equipment with no results.

 

-The Air force will again be flying missions this afternoon with a helicopter.

 

-The Wyoming Civil Air Patrol planes were experiencing adverse wind conditions in the search area which had initially lead to limited flying time early this morning.

 

-Search teams are looking for a White and blue "PA32" single engine (6) seated low wing aircraft with 4 men reported to be aboard. Tail numbers on the aircraft are identified as N110UM.

 

-The aircraft was last known to be on radar in the Laramie Peak area at approximately 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday afternoon (October 9th).

 

-Though the focus of the search is currently on the Laramie Peak itself, efforts have also expanded surrounding it.   

 

-If anyone has any information about an aircraft in the area of Laramie Peak matching the description to please contact the Albany County Sheriff's office immediately at 307-721-2526 or dial 911. All information is appreciated.
