It is required by Wyoming State Statutes that Sales Tax be paid within 50 days from the date of purchase to avoid penalties and interest. It is not necessary to have a Wyoming Title in the owners name before the sales tax is paid but requires a dealer invoice, purchase order or a notarized Bill of Sale. The current tax rate for Albany County is 6% and is determined by the tax rate effective for the county of the purchaser's principle residence on date of sale.
