The Board of Commissioners of Albany County, Wyoming, at its April 18, 2017, regular meeting discussed Public Law 106-393 of the 106th Congress regarding the “Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 – Title III – County Projects” of which Payment in Lieu of Tax funds can be expended solely on projects that meet the requirements of this Public Law. Pursuant to W.S. § 16-3-103, the Board of Albany County Commissioners hereby gives notice of a Public Hearing concerning the use of these funds to be held at a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 1, at 9:30 a.m., in Room 105 in the Albany County Courthouse, 525 Grand Avenue in Laramie, WY.
The Board of County Commissioners has $13,829.54 to appropriate. Scott Davis, Albany County Fire Warden is requesting $6,914.77 to be used for ongoing and future fuel mitigation projects. These projects include reducing the Wildland Urban Interface fuel problems in the County through defensible spaces and shaded fuel breaks. Dave O’Malley, Albany County Sheriff is requesting $6,914.77 for the repair and/or replacement of equipment utilized in search and rescue operations on Federal lands.
The public is invited to attend the Public Hearing or submit written comments to the Board of Albany County Commissioners, c/o Jackie R. Gonzales, Albany County Clerk, Courthouse, Room 202, Laramie, WY 82070. All comments received at the Albany County Clerk’s Office on or before the date of the Public Hearing will become part of the public record.
