Absentee voting is a voting method that involves casting a ballot up to 40 days prior to Election Day. Eligible registered voters in Albany County, WY may request an Absentee Ballot by visiting, calling, or sending an email to Elections in the County Clerk’s Office located in the Courthouse. A ballot requested in person may either be voted in person or taken with the voter to be returned to the Courthouse prior to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, whether hand delivered or mailed. A ballot requested via standard mail or email will be mailed to the voter.
Registered voters may request absentee ballots for any and all elections for which they are qualified electors during the year that they submit the request (W.S. 22-9-105). Absentee ballot requests received more than 45 days before an election will be mailed no later than 40 days prior to that election; otherwise, requests should be made at least two weeks before an election to allow enough time for the voter to receive the ballot by mail, vote, and return the ballot to the Courthouse by 7:00 p.m. Election Day. Wyoming does not permit ballots to be returned via email or fax. To submit an absentee ballot request via email, please use the form below.
All Absentee Ballots must be returned to the Albany County Courthouse, Elections Office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
