The Albany County Planning Department is responsible for land use planning and land use permit application reviews in the unincorporated areas of Albany County. Land use permit applications we review include zoning certificates (required for most structures), small wastewater system permits, conditional use permits, small wind energy system permits, and a variety of other land use permits. We are also responsible for rural addressing, enforcement of land use regulations, drafting and amending long-range land use plans, and keeping County regulations consistent with the goals of our land use plans.
